How to write a research paper

Pointer: paperwriting.tex

A robotics paper is an argument with a robot in the loop. Claim, why it is not obvious, what you built, what would falsify you, what you measured. Figures that a tired reviewer can understand at 1 a.m. beat a gallery of unlabelled screenshots.

Related work is a map, not a diss track. Experiments need a baseline and a sentence about what “better” means. If your class project becomes a paper, cite the textbook, say what is yours, and do not paste unpublished homework as if it were a result. Read the book appendix for the craft; this sheet is only a stance.
